Snowy Val d'Ultimo
Val d'Ultimo is a snow-sure valley, sometimes it even snows several metres here - so an idyllic winter holiday is assured. Several winter hiking trails run not far from the apartments masi. Opposite you will find the ice skating rink and the entrance to the cross-country ski trail. You can walk to the valley station of the ski area Schwemmalm because it’s only 140 metres away from our house.
WITH THE SCHWEMMALM CABLE CAR TO THE SKIING AREA
The cable car Schwemmalm takes you right up to the slopes. The Schwemmalm ski area has a total of 25 perfectly prepared slopes but there are also beautiful snowshoe hikes at the top. At the valley station you will find a ski and snowboard rental with a small shop.

​For beginners, we recommend to take the car to the old chairlift valley station and from there up to the ski area. There you will find the ski school and an easy practice slope and another ski and snowboard rental shop. We will be happy to give you tips for your skiing holiday in Val d’Ultimo.

INTO THE NATURE - INTO THE ADVENTURE
Even though the roads in Val d'Ultimo are always well cleared, you can leave your car at home during your winter holiday, you can reach winter sports activities such as ice skating and tobogganing on foot.

​A few metres from the house you will find the Schwemmy Kinderland, which provides plenty of fun for the whole family with its two conveyor belts, 60 and 80 metres long respectively, and the small ski and toboggan run. Across the road is the ice skating rink with skate hire.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING - DELIGHTFUL WINTER SPORT IN VAL D’ULTIMO
Cross-country skiing is one of the healthiest winter sports. While gliding through the snow-covered countryside, all muscles are exercised, and body and mind are brought into harmony. In Val d'Ultimo, a total of 25 km of cross-country skiing trails for classic and skating style runs through forests, across meadows, past old farms to Santa Gertrude at the end of the valley.

Cross the road once and you are already on the cross-country trail. You can get the cross-country skiing tickets and the appropriate equipment at the valley station of the Schwemmalm.

HIKING IN THE SNOW
Put on your winter boots and start your winter hike through the snow-covered Val d'Ultimo. The hikes along the “Ultner Höfeweg” and the lakeside trail are particularly beautiful. Depending on the snow conditions, you can also master these without snowshoes. Further up the valley there are great snowshoe hiking trails and routes for experienced ski tourers. The idyllic views of nature are guaranteed to provide unforgettable holiday moments from which you can recharge your batteries for a long time to come.
Christmas markets in Lana and Merano
What would a winter be without Christmas carols, hot drinks, delicious smelling biscuits and this magical sea of lights ... If you love the time before Christmas, you should plan a visit to the Christmas markets in Lana, Merano or Bolzano. You can reach the markets by bus. The bus stop is in front of our house.

HOLIDAY APARTMENTS IN ULTENTAL WITH SAUNA
After winter hiking or skiing in Val d'Ultimo, our small sauna awaits you in your apartment. The pleasant warmth stimulates the blood circulation, relaxes tired muscles and conjures up rosy skin. A sauna session is the perfect end to a holiday day in winter but also in autumn after hiking.
